Planning a Viewing Trip to Baku from Israel

Read this article in Hebrew

Photos and video tours go a long way, but standing on the balcony and hearing the Caspian tells you something new. A viewing trip from Israel to Baku takes some planning. Here is how to do it well.

Step 1: The visa

Israeli citizens have two main options, according to the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Israel. Holders of ordinary Israeli passports can get a single-entry 30-day visa on arrival at Azerbaijan's international airports. You can also apply online in advance for an ASAN e-visa at evisa.gov.az. According to the official e-visa portal, a standard e-visa is issued within 3 working days, and an urgent one within 3 hours. For the e-visa, your passport must be valid at least 3 months beyond the visa's expiry date, and families can apply together in one application. The Embassy of Israel in Azerbaijan advises that Israeli passports be valid for at least six months beyond the planned stay.

Step 2: The flight

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) operates direct flights from Tel Aviv to Baku and puts the flight time at about 3 hours. Schedules change, so check the airline's site for your dates.

Step 3: Plan what to see

Decide before you fly which projects and apartments you want to see, so every hour on the ground counts. At Sea Breeze Baku, you can visit Marina Village and BRABUS Island, which is under construction. Tevakol Family are partners and developers in both. Sea Breeze puts the resort about 22 minutes from Baku city center.

Step 4: Make time for the beach

Walk the beach and the promenade, try a restaurant, and picture daily life there. The resort lists more than 7 km of beach area and over 60 restaurants and bars. More in our guide to Sea Breeze Baku.
